Why Police Mutual?

Corporate governance

As a mutual organisation we are owned by our members and exist to benefit them rather than shareholders. Our members are at the centre of what we do and how we do it.

From the very beginning we’ve depended on a network of volunteers known as Authorised Officers to represent Police Mutual within their forces, and to bring the benefits of membership to the notice of the Police Family. All the Authorised Officers are unpaid and receive no commission. Their services are given for the benefit of their colleagues and they do this work on top of their normal Police duties.

Annual General Meetings

Force Authorised Officers represent the views of their force at Annual General Meetings. You can find out more about their responsibilities and find details of our Annual General Meetings on this page.

Report and accounts

Our Annual Report and Accounts are received at our Annual General Meeting and contain details of our business performance, and the performance of our investments, and they’re available to download on this page.
